ASBESTOS IN-HOUSE
TRAINING SESSIONS:
These sessions normally include:
-
An introduction to asbestos;
-
Thermal, acoustic and fire-proofing asbestos-containing materials;
-
Asbestos health related diseases;
-
Surveys' methods and techniques to identify asbestos- containing material
in buildings, plants, schools, etc.;
-
Introduction to Provincial, Federal and International asbestos related regulations
and norms of exposure;
-
Latest methods and techniques developed in North America to perform asbestos abatement
projects in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and in house
regulations and acts;
-
Workers individual and collective protection such as the use of various types of
respirators, HEPA Vacuums, decontamination facilities, etc.
-
The common remedial actions to be adopted during normal buildings activities and/or
construction projects.
These sessions could be customized to
suit all clients needs. They are normally addressed to maintenance workers
and personnel as well as to engineers, architects, building owner and project managers. They
are also supported with slide projections taken on sites during asbestos-abatement
projects.
These courses, prepared and presented
by senior engineers who have accumulated a significant experience in this
field, include two main types:

The first is mainly addressed to maintenance workers and covers
interventions under Low and Moderate procedures. This course usually takes one day to
one and a half day.

The second is addressed to building managers, architects, engineers and the
executive staff. This course covers of Low Risk, Moderate Risk and High Risk asbestos
removal procedures. Also covered are the rules and regulation, technical specifications
and asbestos surveys. This course is given on a two or three day
period as needed.
