The president of our company, Mr. Raëd Kassawat, P. Eng., has founded Solerka in 1996 to have its head office in Montreal.  Solerka is an environmental consulting firm that has started with offering all asbestos-abatement related services to expand after that to cover all construction-related hazardous materials.

In the early 1980, asbestos was one of most valuable natural resources in Quebec since Quebec was considered, at the time, the biggest country to export it.  When the first symptoms of asbestos-related diseases started to appear, asbestos was then considered hazardous its handling has to satisfy specific and tiny procedures.

Mr. Kassawat has been one of the first engineers in Quebec to implement and to help out the provincial in-house regulation agencies putting together helpful and safe procedures for all aspects related the the handling and the removal of asbestos-containing materials.  Given that, he contributed in mostly all the French training sessions and speeches, that were presented starting late 1980 and until today,  for both provincial and government and agencies' staff training.
